To use a custom subdomain like trips.yourdomain.com for your Oasis account, you will need to add an A record through your domain host and notify Oasis Support. This replaces the default Oasis link of yourdomain.myoasisapp.com with a custom , client-facing URL. This subdomain becomes the web-based link your clients will see when viewing their trip itineraries and confirmations. It allows you to brand your public-facing pages with a professional, client-facing URL that matches your business.
This guide includes everything you need, whether your DNS provider uses short subdomain input like trips or requires the full subdomain such as trips.yourdomain.com. It also explains what to do once your record is saved.
Before You Start
You will need the following:
Access to your domain registrar or DNS host
The subdomain you want to use (examples: trips, bookings, itineraries)
The IP address to point to: 74.124.194.40
Step 1: Understand the Two Methods
Different DNS providers expect different input when you create an A record. Only one of the two formats below will apply to you. Your DNS host will determine which one is required.
Subdomain Only Format
Most providers use this format. You only need to enter the subdomain label, such as trips. The system automatically appends your root domain when saving the record.
Example:
Host or Name: trips
Points to: 74.124.194.40
Result: trips.yourdomain.com
Used by
GoDaddy, Google Domains, Namecheap, Hover, Squarespace, Wix, SiteGround, DreamHost, Bluehost, Hostinger, Weebly, Shopify, IONOS by 1&1, Network Solutions, Zoho, Porkbun, Dynadot, Gandi, Square, BigCommerce, Web.com
Full Subdomain Format
Some providers require the full subdomain to be entered manually. You will need to enter the entire value like trips.yourdomain.com into the Host or Name field.
Example:
Host or Name: trips.yourdomain.com
Points to: 74.124.194.40
Result: trips.yourdomain.com
Used by
cPanel, WHM, HostGator, InMotion Hosting, A2 Hosting, GreenGeeks, DigitalOcean DNS, Amazon Route 53, Linode DNS Manager, Plesk, Cloudways, Vultr DNS, DreamHost VPS, OVHcloud, Hetzner DNS Console, Bluehost VPS, Kamatera DNS, BIND, Custom nameservers, Private DNS setups
Step 2: Add the A Record in Your DNS Provider
Once you know which format applies, log in to your DNS host and follow the general steps below.
Log in to your domain registrar or DNS dashboard
Select the domain you want to use
Find the DNS Management or Zone File section
Click Add Record or Create New Record
Set the Type to A
Enter your subdomain in the correct format (either trips or trips.yourdomain.com)
Enter 74.124.194.40 as the Points to or Value
Set TTL to 1 hour or leave the default
Save the record
Step 3: Check for Provider-Specific Details
While most DNS providers follow a similar flow, some platforms use different labels, require the full subdomain instead of just the subdomain label, or have additional settings that need to be adjusted. Use the guide below to confirm what is required based on your DNS provider.
GoDaddy
Enter only the subdomain, such as trips, in the Host field
Your root domain is automatically appended
Confirm that no other A or CNAME records exist using the same Host value
Save the record and wait for the update to propagate
Cloudflare
Enter only the subdomain, such as trips, in the Name field
After saving the record, turn off proxying by clicking the orange cloud icon so it turns gray
Proxying must be disabled or the SSL certificate will not be applied correctly
DNS-only mode is required for the Oasis setup to succeed
cPanel
Enter the full subdomain, such as trips.yourdomain.com, in the Name field
Be sure you are editing the correct DNS Zone for the domain connected to your account
If the domain is an add-on, parked, or part of a multi-site setup, confirm which zone applies before editing
Save the record and confirm it appears in the DNS record list
WHM (Web Host Manager)
Enter the full subdomain, such as trips.yourdomain.com, in the Name field
If the domain is being managed across multiple accounts or packages, check the correct zone file before editing
After adding the record, reload the page to confirm it saved correctly
WHM systems may not auto-validate DNS entries, so manual review is important
Namecheap
Enter only the subdomain, such as trips, in the Host field
Use the A record type and enter 74.124.194.40 in the Value field
TTL can remain set to automatic or be changed to 1 hour
Save the changes and verify that no conflicting records exist for the same Host value
Squarespace
Enter only the subdomain, such as trips, in the Host or Name field
This applies only if you purchased your domain directly through Squarespace
If your domain is connected from another registrar, log in to that registrar to edit the DNS records there
Save the record in Squarespace and confirm it appears in the record list
DigitalOcean DNS
Enter the full subdomain, such as trips.yourdomain.com, in the Name field
Use the A record type and enter 74.124.194.40 in the IP address field
Save the record and check the DNS zone to confirm the update was applied
Propagation may take a few minutes to a few hours depending on TTL settings
Amazon Route 53
Enter the full subdomain, such as trips.yourdomain.com, in the Record name field
Set the record type to A (IPv4 address)
Enter 74.124.194.40 in the Value field
If routing policies are being used, select Simple routing unless you have a custom configuration in place
Save the record and verify that it appears in the hosted zone record list
Step 4: Notify Oasis Support
After saving your DNS record, you must email support@myoasisapp.com with the exact subdomain you configured. Nothing will be connected until this step is completed.
What Oasis Will Do
Once we receive your subdomain, our team will complete the following:
Link the subdomain to your account
Issue an SSL certificate for secure access
Verify that everything is connected and working
